Tom Brady will join the broadcasting world when he retires from the NFL. He's already got a contract from Fox to join their team as soon as he's done playing.

Before that happens, he'll be like the rest of the sports world that listens to and appreciates certain figures in that space. For the seven-time Super Bowl winner, that's Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley.

Brady revealed this admiration on his podcast:

"I think the authenticity is a great point. You know, I think that's, you know, showing up to be who you are and you don't have to be someone that you're, you know that you think people want to hear. You know, and I think that makes it. When I see Charles Barkley, who I absolutely love and adore. Shaq does the same thing."

He continued:

"Yeah, I mean, that show 'Inside the NBA' is unbelievable because everybody does it. They just have an amazing chemistry. So you know, it's fun to watch even as athletes you know, we watch the shows and you know, we have it on. ... Look, you throw some bad passes. You deserve to hear about it, you know."

He finished by saying that broadcasters are there for entertainment and he respects what the NBA duo does:

"But at the end of the day, it's just, it's entertainment for all of us. In sports or entertainment. That's what we're here for. Here to entertain people. You know, so there's such a mutual admiration and appreciation and respect that should go both ways. Always."

The duo of Shaq and Barkley, along with Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and other contributors, have made Inside the NBA one of the best sports broadcasting programs on television right now.

When will Tom Brady start broadcasting?

Tom Brady officially has a $350 million deal to join the Fox broadcasting crew. The only thing standing between him and that payday is retirement.

When he retires, the following season he will be in the booth. The quarterback just isn't retiring. He could this offseason, but all indications are that he's bent on returning and not leaving after a sub-.500 season and a playoff blowout.
