XFL game finishes with brawls as both teams clear bench (VIDEO)

The XFL is three weeks in as the new venture of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson slowly takes shape. But what happened at the end of the St. Louis Battlehawks vs. DC Defenders game will likely not have impressed him.

In a hugely entertaining matchup, the Defenders managed to secure their third consecutive win to start the year. But it could have come at a cost.

Former NFL quarterback AJ McCarron was looking to lead his team to a come-from-behind win. With the Battlehawks trailing 34-28 with under 20 seconds remaining and having no timeouts, McCarron was sacked.

That ended the game, but it wasn't finished there as an all-in brawl then accompanied the sack. This is sure to lead to a financial sanction for the players involved. Take a look below.

While we aren't exactly sure what led to the fight at the end of the game, one thing is for sure, whatever it was certainly got a reaction out of both teams.

The brawl looked to have every player from both teams involved but it was the Defenders who will get the last laugh on the day as they walk away with their third win of the season.

The fight isn't what anyone wanted to see cap off a brilliant game of XFL football. But seeing as it did, plenty of fans took to social media to give their thoughts on what they had just seen.

The end of the game fight certainly wasn't the best way for such a good game to end, and many fans feel the same way.

The 34-28 win for the Defenders was a great reward after they outscored the Battlehawks 20-14 in the second half.

This match should have been celebrated by XFL fans as the product put forth by Dwayne Johnson is gathering pace (viewership wise) and on the field, players are doing their part.

It ruined what should have been a superb display of football and instead of talking about the game, the headlines after the game are about the fight.
