Photos: XFL team Battlehawks recreate Dwayne Johnson's iconic outfit

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been a famous figure in the sports and movie world for over a decade, with the St. Louis Battlehawks taking advantage. The former WWE wrestler and movie star has millions of fans worldwide.

That now includes XFL players from the St. Louis Battlehawks. Johnson's famous outfit from years ago that has him in a black turtleneck long-sleeve top with a chain and a fanny pack has been used by many for Halloween and various other holidays.

The Battlehawks have now done the same and tried to emulate the celebrity. Three members of the St. Louis special teams posed for a photo together all dressed as The Rock all those years ago.

The response to the players' outfits has gone over well on social media as they took a light-hearted dig at Johnson. They aren't the first and certainly won't be the last to take the opportunity to dress up in what can be described as the most notable outfit over the last two decades.

The Rock even took the joke in good taste as, back then, that kind of fashion was considered to be the norm, although that is far from the case now.

The Rock took over the XFL along with several of his partners as they try to bring it back. Seen as a less-than competition to the NFL, instead of trying to rival the biggest sports league in the US, Johnson is instead trying to use the league as a pathway to the NFL.

The Battlehawks are in action against the San Antonio Brahams as the first round of games comes to a conclusion.

The Arlington Renegades and the Houston Roughnecks are the only two teams with winning records at the time of writing. The Renegades defeated the Vegas Vipers 22-20, while the Roughnecks took care of business, defeating the Orlando Guardians 33-12.
