Cameron Delport Biography
Cameron Scott Delport is a professional South African cricketer who plays in the domestic circuit for the Dolphins.
He also plays in many T20 league all around the world. He is a left-handed explosive batsman and is widely regarded for his ability to hit the cricket ball.
He was born on 12 May 1989 in Durban, Natal, South Africa. He can also bowl right arm medium whenever it is required of him.
Delport arrived at the senior level cricketing scene when he started playing for the Dolphins in the year 2009.
Right from the beginning of his cricketing days, he has been recognized as an explosive batsman.
Delport made his First-class debut against Eastern Province while playing for the KwaZulu-Natal in the year 2009.
He made his List A debut in the same year while playing for the Dolphins at Port Elizabeth against Warriors.
The following year, he made his T20 debut while playing for the Dolphins in a match against Lions on February 19, 2010.
Rise to prominence
With the kind of hitting ability that Cameron has, it is very difficult to remain out of limelight for very long.
He grabbed eyeballs very quickly in his career. He was included in the Kwazulu-Natal cricket team squad for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup. In 2014, he along with Morne van Wyk set the record for the highest opening partnership in List A matches as they scored an unbeaten 367.
He played for the Lahore Qalandars in the first every Pakistan Super League and scored 227 runs at an average of 32.42.
He plays in a number of domestic leagues around the world. He played for the Sydney Thunder in the Australian T20 league.
He has also played for the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel in the Caribbean Premier League. He has been playing for Leicestershire in the Natwest T20 League and there are many other teams that he has been playing for. In January 2018, he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for the Indian Premier League.
