Geoffrey Charles Neal is an American mixed martial artist competing in the UFC welterweight division.


'Handz of Steel' made his octagon debut on July 25, 2017, against Chase Waldon on Dana White's Contender Series 3. He knocked out Waldon in the first round.


Neal is currently the No.7-ranked contender in the welterweight division.

Early Life and Career


Geoff Neal was born on August 28, 1990, in Austin, Texas, United States. Although Neal played football at a young age, he did not like the training and later transitioned to mixed martial arts.


Even after his promotional debut in UFC, Neal worked as a server for several years at Texas Roadhouse in Dallas. This was due to not being able to get fights scheduled.

The 32-year-old American fighter earned a UFC contract on July 25, 2017, against Chase Waldon in Contender Series and won the fight by TKO in the first round.


'Handz of Steel' made his full promotional debut at UFC Fight Night: Cowboy vs. Medeiros on February 18, 2018, against Brian Camozzi. He won the bout by submitting Camozzi via a rare naked choke.


For his third fight in the promotion, Neal faced Frank Camacho at UFC 228 and won the fight with a head kick knockout on September 8, 2018.


Belal Muhammad was his next opponent at UFC Fight Night: Cejudo vs. Dillashaw on January 19, 2019. Neal won the bout via unanimous decision.


Geoff Neal had two more fights in 2019 with Niko Price and Mike Perry at UFC 240 and UFC 245, respectively. Neal won both bouts via TKO.


Neal picked up his first loss in the UFC against Stephen Thompson at UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Neal on December 19, 2020, via unanimous decision.
