The Lakers’ first win helps them climb one spot on the ranking.

Oklahoma City Thunder#25#251-2The Thunder could have had a winning record this week if it wasn’t for the Grizzlies snatching a win on their home floor. They are slowly but surely finding their footing through the injuries.
Orlando Magic#26#271-3With Victor Oladipo yet to make his return, the win over the 76ers was the only silver lining of the week. Nikola Vucevic, the starting center has been putting up huge numbers.
Indiana Pacers#27#201-4If it wasn’t for the Utah Jazz visiting the Pacers, the Indiana franchise would have had a winless week losing miserably to the Wizards twice and the Celtics.
Los Angeles Lakers#28#291-1The Lakers finally win a game after their worst ever start to the season in franchise history (0-5). Charles Barkley can breathe a sigh of relief.
Denver Nuggets#29#180-3The Nuggets are currently on a five game losing streak, losing by an average of 12 points every game.
Philadelphia 76ers#30#300-3The tanking at Philadelphia continues. Mind you if it wasn’t for Tobias Harris’ game winning shot they were might close to defeating the Orlando Magic in the battle of the minnows and grabbing their first win. They are the only team to be winless.

New York Knicks#19#90-4After winning two of their first three games, the New York Knicks have gone on to lose the next four including two consecutive against the Atlanta Hawks. Is the team facing problems executing the triangle?
Atlanta Hawks#20#262-1The Hawks are getting together and playing like the Spurs of the East. They had two big wins against the Knicks and a heartbreaking double overtime loss against the Hornets.
Milwaukee Bucks#21#222-2The fact that they were the first team to beat the Grizzlies shows what potential this team has. A young team with a young head coach have been on the right track so far.
Utah Jazz#22#242-2It’s been a memorable week for the citizens of Utah after its team won 2 games out of four including a huge one over LeBron’s Cavaliers, courtesy of Gordon Haywood’s fadeaway game winning shot.
Minnesota Timberwolves#23#231-2Ricky Rubio’s ankle injury is a sign of concern given the kind of form he was in prior to it. Andrew Wiggins keeps developing with each game. Zach Lavine playing point till Rubio returns is a promising sign for the future.
Detroit Pistons#24#282-2If Brandon Jennings could ice the game against the Jazz, the Pistons could have bounced from a 0-3 start by winning the next 3. Instead the loss to the Jazz was a

In a season of no excuses, the Clippers have looked scratchy so far costing them spots in week 2
TeamsRankLast week’s RankWeek 2 record Comments
Los Angeles Clippers#13#71-2Their scratchy play continues. A win over the Trailblazers brought hope but a drubbing by the Warriors and a close loss at home to the defending champions costs them places on the rankings.
New Orleans Pelicans#14#192-1An extremely talented and young squad is growing with each game they play together. The entire roster seems healthy and that could push the Pelicans into a race for the last Playoff spot.
San Antonio Spurs#15#132-2Both their wins have been close finishes and the game against the Rockets was a sorry game to watch. But then again this is a team dealing with injuries and competing nonetheless. More importantly they are coached by Greg Popovich
Cleveland Cavaliers#16#142-2Losses to Trailblazers and the Utah Jazz help the Cavaliers in losing places rather than climbing the rankings. The squad is still trying to get on the same page.
Boston Celtics#17#212-1A 3 point loss to the Raptors at home and a win over the Bulls without Rajon Rondo sees the C’s jump up 4 spots.
Charlotte Hornets#18#16 2-2It was a week of mixed fortunes for the Hornets. They beat the Heat but then took two overtime sessions to beat the Hawks and lost to the Lakers.

#2 Ranks 7-12

The Portland Trailblazers made the biggest push this week gaining 7 spots with a 3-1 record.
TeamsRankLast Week’s rankWeek 2 recordComments
Washington Wizards#7#103-1A strong second week from the Wizards after a so-so first week. However they are still to win against any team with a winning record so far. Bradley Beal is yet to make a return from injury.
Miami Heat#8#22-2The Heat managed to control a two game skid after going unbeaten in the first week by winning the last 2 games of the week. A statement win over the Mavericks prove the team are no pushovers.
Brooklyn Nets#9#152-1They have been unpredictable so far. Given their roster they should have been unbeaten till now. Anyway a week with big matchups in the Suns, Warriors, Heat and Blazers lies ahead for the Nets
Portland Trailblazers#10#173-1Other than two point loss to the Clippers, its safe to say that the Blazers have bounced back well from a disappointing first week with a week where they bagged wins against the Cavs and Mavs.
Dallas Mavericks#11#51-2The Mavericks take a big fall this week losing six places on the rankings. They had a sub par week 2 record of 1-2 after starting the season 3-1
Phoenix Suns#12#122-2The team has tremendous potential but the team has not been able to performa consistently so far. Losing to teams like the Jazz and on the other hand beating the unbeaten Warriors.

#1 Ranks 1-6

Led by Captain Stephen Curry, the Warriors stay on top of Sportskeeda’s NBA Power Rankings.
TeamsRankLast Week’s RankWeek 2 recordComments
Golden State Warriros#1#12-1Looking at the way they took care of division rivals the Clippers it would be safe to assume that the loss to Phoenix was only a small setback. Curry has been phenomenal and is the player of the week
Memphis Grizzlies#2#32-1I bet the Grizzlies didn’t expect the Milwaukee Bucks to be the team they were going to lose their first game to nonetheless the team has a lot of momentum going its way and they would love to continue riding it.
Houston Rockets#3#42-1In the battle of the unbeatens, the lost to the Warriors although the arguement can be made that they were shorthanded (without Dwight Howard). Their good fortuned easy schedule will continue for another week before they meet the Grizzlies.
Toronto Raptors#4#114-0Other than the game against the Miami Heat, the Raptors have not been tested by any other opponent even the Washington Wizards for that matter
Chicago Bulls#5#82-1The Bulls had quietly won three games without Rose after the loss to the Cavaliers. Pau Gasol has been firing all guns with his new team.
Sacramento Kings#6#64-1 Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins have been a huge reason for the Kings’ sensational start to the season.Their upcoming schedule is testy though-Spurs, Mavericks and Pelicans
