New York Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams was arrested on Thursday after allegedly trying to board a flight while in possession of a gun.

The 22-year-old was stopped at the Delta check-in counter at LaGuardia Airport prior to security.

Williams has an Alabama permit for a Glock 19 pistol and the gun was not loaded.

He was issued a summons to appear in court at a later date.

Williams, who played college football for Alabama, was selected with the third overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Jets and was considered one of the best prospects in his class.

He played in 13 games as a rookie as the Jets went 7-9, with Williams largely failing to live up to the pre-draft hype in Gregg Williams' defense as he recorded 28 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
