Unsigned rookie QB Darnold misses Jets' first practice
Rookie quarterback Sam Darnold was absent from the New York Jets' first training camp practice on Friday.
The number three overall pick from the University of Southern Calirfornia remains unsigned as he was reportedly unable to agree a deal with the Jets before the team's first practice.
Darnold did not report alongside the other rookies for the first day of the team's training camp on Tuesday, but it had been expected a contract would be agreed by Friday.
The wording of the deal is reportedly the issue between the two sides.
Chicago Bears linebacker Roquan Smith is the only other rookie from the 2018 NFL Draft who remains unsigned.
