Fergal Devitt popularly known as Finn Bálor is an Irish Professional Wrestler currently signed with WWE and is said to appear on the Raw brand. He is currently a part of the heel stable “The Judgment Day” with Damien Priest, Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio. Devitt began his professional wrestling training in 2001 at NWA UK Hammerlock and made his debut the same year. He won the NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship soon after his debut and started touring Ireland, United Kingdom and United States for wrestling promotions. Devitt wrestled for Millennium Wrestling Federation (MWF), National World Alliance (NWA), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (NWA) until 2006. He then moved to Japan and made his debut at the New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), where he is the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion thrice and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion six-times. He is the founder of the globally popular “Bullet Club” stable, where he is the leader of the stable for a year.
Balor left NJPW in 2014 after signing a contract with WWE, where he was assigned to wrestle for the NXT brand under the ring name Finn Bálor. Bálor is also known for his alter ego “Demon King”, with a body paint is a dark gimmick that is believed to have supernatural powers based on Irish myths. Balor wrestled for NXT for two years and had a NXT Championship tenure. He was soon called for the main roster debut in 2016 as a part of 2016 Superstar Shakeup. Bálor was given a push right away and it made him the inaugural Universal Champion by defeating Roman Reigns in the semi finals and Seth Rollins at the finals of the tournament. His Championship reign didn’t last a day, as he relinquished his title due to a shoulder injury which required surgery. Balor then was not given the same push and was stuck in the midcard to become two-times Intercontinental Champion and one-time United States Champion. In 2019 Bálor returned to NXT as a heel with “Prince Bálor” gimmick and had another NXT Championship reign. After losing his championship in 2021, Bálor came back to the main roster as a face and turned heel by joining “The Judgement Day” betraying the founder of the stable, Edge.
Finn Bálor's Epic Finishing Move
Finn Balor currently uses Coup de Grace as his primary finisher to guarantee a win against his opponent. Where he lays his target down, climbs the rope, jumps by landing the foot on the opponent’s midsection. It is one of the unique wrestling finishers in WWE and is believed to be hurting the abdominal region of the target. Finn Bálor also used “1916” as his finisher during his second NXT reign, where he locks his opponent’s neck like an inverted DDT, lift the opponent and plants back first.
