Women’s Wrestling in WWE

The first-ever WWE Women’s title was introduced in 1956, and since then, most of the women’s wrestling has revolved around these world titles. Over the years, the female division of the WWE has witnessed superstars like Chyna, Lita, and Trish Stratus battle it out in the ring. Moreover, wrestlers like The Bella Twins and AJ Lee had famous feuds in their time, and since then, the roster has been filled with the likes of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Ronda Rousey, Asuka, Liv Morgan, and more. WWE introduced the Tag Team Championships in 2018.

New Titles in 2024

2024 saw the announcement of several titles for the women’s division. Firstly, WWE introduced the NXT Women’s North American Championship, which became the company’s first mid-card title for female wrestlers. The title was made exclusively for the NXT roster. Thereafter, the company also introduced the WWE Speed Women’s Championship for its Speed programming and the WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship to crown the best of the best. The company closed the year by introducing a secondary singles title for the main roster.

Introduction of the WWE Women’s United States Championship

On the November 8, 2024, episode of SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis announced to the fans a new title for the women's division in a pre-recorded segment. He introduced the WWE Women’s US title, the counterpart to the Men’s US Championship.

WWE Women’s US Championship design

The design of the Women's United States Championship mirrors that of its male counterpart, featuring similar aesthetics but tailored for female competitors. It has a white strap, distinguishing it from the men's version while maintaining the iconic look associated with the United States Championship. The design choice is consistent with the pattern WWE followed for the former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships.
