Born on October 9, 1988, Starling Javier Marte is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder for the New York Mets in MLB as of May 2025. Marte signed a deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2007 and spent time in the minor league teams of the Pirates. Marte became the first player to graduate from the Pirates' Latin American complex, which is situated in the Dominican Republic, and made it to the major leagues. He made his MLB debut on July 26, 2012.
