Born on October 9, 1988, Starling Javier Marte is Dominic Professional baseball outfielder for the New York Mets in Major League Baseball (MLB) as of October 2024. Marte signed a deal with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2007 and spent time in the minor teams of the Pirates. Marte became the first player to graduate from the Pirates' Latin American complex, which is situated in the Dominican Republic, and made it to the major leagues. He made his MLB debut on July 26, 2012.

Starling Marte has since been named to the All-Star Game twice in his career as of October 2024 (2016 and 2022). He is also the recipient of two Gold Glove Awards (2015 and 2016). Since his MLB debut, Starling Marte has gone on to play for different teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Miami Marlins, the Oakland Athletics, and as of October 2024, the New York Mets.
