#3 Brooklyn Nets

KD and Irving.

Kevin Durant is the piece that will change everything for the Brooklyn Nets. If Durant's chemistry with Kyrie Irving translates to solid play on the basketball court, Brooklyn will be a tough team in the 2020-21 NBA season.

Durant and Irving are a solid duo, though their characters are hard to judge.

Also, the team has highly capable scorers in Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert.

Joe Harris might be the best three-point shooter in the league right now (45% from three in the last two seasons), and he will be huge for their aspirations. Moreover, Brooklyn will have Jarrett Allen and DeAndre Jordan in the paint.

Landry Shamet, Jeff Green, and Bruce Brown can produce some offense from the bench and help the starters in the 2020-21 NBA campaign.

Durant and Irving will be key for the Nets' hopes this season, but they are surrounded very well.

#2 LA Clippers

Kawhi Leonard.

The LA Clippers' core is formed by the same duo as last year. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will need to guide the team, and they have pressure to perform at the biggest stage of the 2020-21 NBA campaign.

The team will have a new head coach in Tyronn Lue, and some names will be new in the locker room. It remains to be seen if the LA Clippers will fire on all cylinders in the 2020-21 NBA season, but if they do not, it won't be due to a lack of talent or depth on their roster.

Marcus Morris signed a four-year, $64 million to stay free agency. Moreover, they lost Montrezl Harrell but signed Serge Ibaka to a two-year, $19 million deal.

They kept Reggie Jackson, acquired sniper Luke Kennard, and picked up Nicolas Batum.

The Clippers' depth looks solid for the 2020-21 NBA season. They have Patrick Beverley, Jackson, George, Lou Williams, Kennard, and Batum in the perimeter. Moreover, Leonard and Morris will be a solid forward combo with Patrick Patterson behind them, and Ivica Zubac will back up Ibaka in the 2020-21 NBA season.

#1 LA Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers.
Los Angeles Lakers.

The LA Lakers just won their 17th NBA championship in the Orlando bubble, but the franchise is looking for more in the 2020-21 NBA campaign.

Securing long-term deals for LeBron James and Anthony Davis was huge, but their overall roster for the 2020-21 NBA season is fantastic.

Losing Rajon Rondo might have an impact on their style of basketball off the bench. However, they have added two players who led the NBA in scoring off the bench last year: Montrezl Harrell (reigning Sixth Man of the Year) and Dennis Schroder.

Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee will not be in LA in the 2020-21 NBA season, but the LA Lakers signed veteran Marc Gasol to fill the void at the center position.

Moreover, the LA Lakers kept Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Markieff Morris on their roster for the 2020-21 NBA season. To their guard depth, they added a solid 3-and-D player in Wesley Matthews.

The LA Lakers are favorites to repeat as NBA champions at the end of the 2020-21 NBA season. There is no doubt that they earned that respect with their play on the court and the front office's work.
