In 2016, before the start of Rio Olympics, Anthony made fans go bonkers when he said that he would be okay without an NBA title if he wins a third gold medal. He sure did win his third gold medal at Rio but that statement only shows that Anthony does not have the hunger to win NBA championships and he is all right with not winning it.
Carmelo has never been known as that guy who could go to any extent to win a championship. While there are players who are willing to take pay cuts to win titles, Anthony does not fall under that category.
There have been a lot of all-time greats in the NBA who ended their careers without a ring but they played every day with a lot of hunger to win it. Do you think he should be in the hall of fame only because he is a prolific scorer? I certainly don't think so.
