#2 New York Knicks

Carmelo Anthony left the New York Knicks under negative circumstances back in 2017, but the player and the franchise still share a special bond. When Anthony returned to Madison Square Garden in late 2017 with the Thunder he got a great ovation from the home fans, while also receiving a video package that highlighted his best moments in a Knicks jersey.

Melo is no longer one of the highest earners in the NBA, and if he was willing to take a role on the bench, his presence would not hinder the development of young players such as Kristaps Porziņģis.

It is easy to imagine Anthony in a similar role to Wade in Miami. And the Knicks could do a lot worse than having a player that, in his brief time with the Rockets, averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in 29.4 minutes.
