While the Warriors lost many of their key performers during the summer, they made one significant acquisition in the form of D'Angelo Russell. The 23-year-old has started for Steve Kerr's side in the absence of Klay Thompson, although during an appearance on the SKOR North podcast, Darren Wolfson suggested that D'Angelo Russell will be traded this season, with the Timberwolves a potential destination:

I think it's a matter of when, not if, that the Warriors end up shopping him. We know that the Wolves pursued Russell in the summer. I'm positive that the Wolves are going to have interest.

Minnesota attempted to complete a deal to sign Russell during the offseason, although the 23-year-old eventually joined the Warriors as part of the sign-and-trade deal that resulted in Kevin Durant joining the Brooklyn Nets. Through five appearances for the Warriors, Russell has averaged 19.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.4 assists
