The Minnesota Timberwolves host the LA Clippers in a 2024 NBA Emirates Cup game on Nov. 29. The Timberwolves are coming off their fourth straight loss against the Sacramento Kings last Wednesday night, sinking to an 8-10 record. Meanwhile, the Clippers have won six of their last seven games to enjoy a 12-8 win-loss slate.
Led by young star Anthony Edwards, the Timberwolves have been inconsistent to start the season. They started the season 6-3, before losing seven of their last nine games, including two bad defeats against the rebuilding Portland Trail Blazers. While they remain relatively healthy, Minnesota continues to find the right chemistry with new players to replicate their Western Conference finals run last season.
On the other hand, the Clippers have thrived this season, despite the injury of the All-Star and former two-time NBA champion Kawhi Leonard. Former MVP James Harden and spitfire scorer Norman Powell have been leading the team this season, while starting Ivica Zubac has been enjoying a breakout year to defy early-season expectations.
The game will be headlined by the clash between Edwards and Harden, who both are the focal points of the team on the offensive end. The game will also feature a matchup between bigs Zubac and Minnesota’s Rudy Gobert.
