The streaking LA Clippers face the OKC Thunder on Monday. LA’s last loss before stringing together four straight wins was against Oklahoma on Nov. 2 at the Intuit Dome. The Clippers look to get their revenge in the rematch.
The Thunder will host their visitors on the second night of a back-to-back set. Additionally, they hope to buck the short rest and the absence of several key players. Oklahoma’s decimated frontline could have a long night against the Clippers.
OKC will play without their four best big men. Six-foot-10 Ousmane Dieng could debut this season, as Thunder coach Mark Daigneault has limited options. Alex Caruso, who often played power forward with the Chicago Bulls, could replicate that role for Daigneault.

LA Clippers vs. OKC Thunder: Key matchups
Ivica Zubac vs. whoever plays center for the Thunder
Chet Holmgren kept Ivica Zubac from dominating the paint and the boards in the first Thunder-Clippers matchup. Holmgren also forced the lumbering Croatian to step out because of his outside shooting. Without the lanky power forward, the Thunder could use Ousmane Dieng, who hasn't played this season yet.
After Dieng, Oklahoma’s other options are rookies Malevy Leons and Dillon Jones. How the Thunder can minimize Zubac’s impact will be critical for Monday’s matchup.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander vs. Terance Mann
Terance Mann is LA’s best perimeter defender, which gives him the unenviable task of shadowing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. In the first meeting between the two teams, “SGA” controlled the tempo of the game and went wherever he wanted to. Mann has to step up as last year’s MVP runner-up is expected to be more aggressive, particularly with Holmgren out.
Lu Dort vs. James Harden
Lu Dort’s next assignment after chasing around Steph Curry on Sunday will be James Harden. Dort was effective in slowing down the “Beard” in their first meeting. If he can have the same impact in the rematch, the Thunder have a good chance of winning.
