The window for NBA teams to make trades is quickly coming to an end as the trade deadline will come into effect at 3 pm Eastern Time on Thursday. The impending deadline has left a number of teams around the league scrambling to make last minute deals, and the Los Angeles Lakers are among them.

Due to the six week absence of LeBron James, the Lakers have fallen from 4th to 10th, and the team now faces an uphill battle to end their six-year playoff absence. Nevertheless, Magic Johnson and Lakers executives continue to work tirelessly ahead of the trade deadline, as the team tries to add more talent alongside the team's superstar, LeBron James.

While it is possible that the Lakers could fail in their pursuits, the team is likely to bring in at least one star ahead of the deadline, and here we will look at three of the candidates.

#3 Reggie Bullock

With the Lakers looking increasingly unlikely to add Anthony Davis, the team is reportedly considering a number of other options. The Lakers still don't want to commit to long-term deals, and according to Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times, Reggie Bullock is one of the Lakers prime targets:

The Lakers have been among the teams that have contacted the Pistons about Reggie Bullock. So far Detroit hasn’t been very interested in moving him for what they’ve been offered. This is the last year of his deal and he’s making $2.5 million this year.

Bullock's expiring deal will be attractive for the Lakers, and the 27-year-old has also enjoyed one of his best seasons to date. During the 18/19 season, Bullock is averaging 12.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, he is also shooting 38% from beyond the arc.

#2 Trevor Ariza

While the majority of Lakers news over the past few days has revolved around Anthony Davis, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne has provided an update on the team's interest in their former player, Trevor Ariza:

In non-Anthony Davis news, Lakers continue to have a fondness for Trevor Ariza, should the Wizards make him available at the deadline.

Just last week, The Athletic's Bill Oram revealed that the Lakers were once again targeting a deal for Ariza, having first pursued a deal for the player towards the end of 2018. The Lakers missed out on Ariza back in December after Magic Johnson was unwilling to offer Josh Hart as a part of the deal, and the 33-year-old eventually headed to Washington instead.

In his brief time with the Wizards, Ariza has averaged 15.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, and the veteran is set to become a free agent in the summer.

#1 Jabari Parker

Jabari Parker joined his home town team in the summer of 2018, however, the move has not worked out as planned. After a poor start to the season, the Bulls completely removed Parker from the teams minutes rotation, and Parker has failed to regain his starting spot ever since.

Due to this, Parker is expected to the leave the team ahead of the trade deadline, and while speaking on ESPN's The Hoop Collective Podcast, Brian Windhorst revealed that the Lakers were one of the teams that were currently engaged in trade talks for the 23-year-old:

Caldwell-Pope is available and has been floated out there for some spots.. Now I’m not saying this deal is going to get done, but one place they have talked to is Chicago for Jabari Parker... Jabari Parker could be a Laker in the next few days

Parker is contracted through the 19/20 season, so unlike the other options on this list, the Bulls guard wouldn't just be a quick fix.
