Dion Waiters was suspended for the Heat's opening game of the season after clashing with head coach Spoelstra during preseason, and the veteran is currently away from the team after being handed a 10-game suspension following an incident on Miami's team plane. It is unlikely that Waiters will feature for the Heat again, and Dave Hyde of the Sun Sentinel believes that the guard will be traded in the coming months:

So a trade is probably coming at some point where Waiters’ value is as an accounting measure to match up salaries of other players. Until then? Cleveland just told J.R. Smith to stay away last year. That sounds about right here.

Waiters signed with the Heat back in the 2016 offseason and the 27-year-old has been a regular starter during his three seasons with the team. During the 2018-19 campaign, Waiters averaged 12.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 25.9 minutes per contest.
