Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on the 17th of February 1963 in Brooklyn, New York and played an incredible fifteen seasons for the two teams which are the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards. He played the shooting guard spot and is considered by many to be the greatest player of all-time.

The Michael Jordan statue is located at United Center, Chicago, Illinois. This statue is bronze in design and the sculpture was designed by Omri Amrany and Julie Rotblatt-Amrany in 1994 after Michael Jordan’s first retirement. The Statue weighs around 907.2 kg, the height of the statue is 12 ft and this stands above the black granite which is 5ft and the writing on this says "the best there ever was, the best there ever will be". It also lists his countless amounts of achievements in basketball. This statue was unveiled on November 1st in 1994.

He is the best basketball player to ever live, but in high school, he had to deal with rejection and this was because his high school team needed size so they took up Leroy Smith. This was devastating as it filled him with embarrassment and anger, which made him work harder and so enough he was progressed from JV to varsity and be among the top recruits for colleges.

Michael Jordan was recruited by North Carolina in 1981 and he left for the NBA draft in 1984 in those three years he managed to achieve a lot. In Jordan's freshman year Michael Jordan was able to win NCAA championship taking the last shot to beat Georgetown University.

With his college career over, Michael Jordan was drafted third overall by the Chicago Bulls. Michael Jordan was a six-time NBA champion, six-time NBA finals MVP, five-time Nba MVP and won many different honors. During his years in the NBA, he had to deal with the likes of Larry Bird’s Celtics team, Magic Johnson's Lakers team and finally the very physical Detroit Pistons. In 1992, he was part of the Olympic Dream team that swept everyone away and captured the gold medal in Barcelona, Jordan's second.

In his last game for the Bulls, he was able to knock down the game-winning shot against the Utah Jazz. Despite calling it quits after that, he returned for a couple of seasons as a member of the Wizards from 2001 to 2003. Michael Jordan was arguably the most clutch player to play basketball, but his incredible ability to produce in the most pressured moments, his incredible amount of success is the reason why he is the greatest player to play basketball and why he has this statue
