The NBA All-Star weekend is just around the corner and it promises to be an exciting one. The weekend's marquee event is the All-Star Game and this year, Team LeBron will go up against Team Giannis.

This year's NBA All-Star Game draft was televised and both the captains chose their team from a pool of starters and reserves. Let us take a look at the starting lineup of Team Giannis.

Stephen Curry - G

Stephen Curry will be in his sixth straight All-Star Game and it will be an emotional one for him as he grew up in Charlotte. Curry has been at his usual best this season, averaging 28.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.

The Warriors struggled to win games very early in the season but are back at the top of the Western Conference Standings. With DeMarcus Cousins finally making his debut for the Warriors, they look deadly and have been causing a lot of problems for the oppositions.

All the Warriors' starters have been playing their role to perfection but it is Curry once again who has been the center of attraction. He is shooting at a breath-taking rate from inside and behind the arc.

The Big 3 of the Warriors are all averaging over 20 points per game this season and the Warriors lead the association in offensive rating with 116.0. Their three-point shooting has also been stellar as they are placed second with a shooting percentage of 38.7.

The Warriors have three players representing the franchise at this year's All-Star Game. While Stephen Curry is part of Team Giannis, Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson will play for Team LeBron.

Kemba Walker - G

Kemba Walker continues to shine in the NBA as the guard is averaging a career-high 25.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game. The Hornets are placed at the Seventh spot in the Eastern Conference and are fighting for a spot in the playoffs.

Walker's heroics this season include his 60-point game against the Philadelphia 76ers that unfortunately ended in a loss for the Hornets. He will feature in his third All-Star Game this year in his franchise's town, Charlotte.

The hometown boy is expected to get a lot of cheers when he sets foot on the court in the All-Star Game and he will be looking to have a memorable game. Walker has only made it to the postseason twice in his career, with his last postseason appearance coming in 2016. He will become an unrestricted free agent in July, 2019 and several teams are expected to make a move for him.

Joel Embiid - C

Joel Embiid is having a breakout season with the Philadelphia 76ers as the center is averaging 27.2 points and 13.5 rebounds for a double-double. Part of the Big 3 in Philadelphia, Embiid is known for his dominance in the paint and is a nightmare to guard.

Embiid earned his first All-Star selection in his second year in the NBA (last year) and he was the only player that represented the Philadelphia franchise. That will change this year as his teammate, Ben Simmons will play opposite him in the All-Star Game.

The Sixers are currently in the fourth spot in the East at 35-20 and have recently acquired guard Tobias Harris, along with Boban Marjanović and Mike Scott, in exchange for Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala, Landry Shamet and a number of future draft picks.

Paul George - F

Paul George has looked like a man on a mission, for the most part, this season as the forward is averaging career-high numbers in five statistical categories. George, who is playing the best basketball of his career, is the main reason why the Thunder find themselves at the third spot in the Western Conference standings.

Last year, George was snubbed and not named an All-Star. However, an injury to DeMarcus Cousins helped him get into the All-Star Game as Cousins' replacement.

The 29-year-old signed a four-year, $137 million contract extension with the Thunder in the 2018 offseason which led to the formation of the Big 3 in Oklahoma City that includes him, Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams.

The Fresno State product is known as one of the best two-way players in the league and is a realistic threat on both ends of the floor.

Giannis Antetokounmpo - F

Giannis Antetokounmpo has transitioned into one of the best players in the league in a very small amount of time. One season after winning the Most Improved Player of the Year award, Giannis is the front runner for MVP.

The Milwaukee Bucks are leading the association with a 41-14 record and are easily the favorites to come out of the East. The 'Greek Freak' is averaging 27.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game for a double-double over the season.

This will be his third straight All-Star Game appearance and he has received the highest number of fan votes in the East.

He is the captain of his side Team Giannis and it is definitely a huge honor for someone just aged 24 to captain a team that is filled with the top basketball players on the planet.
