The Houston Rockets had a horror off-season as they traded away elite 3-and-D man Robert Covington for two first-round picks and Trevor Ariza. They then traded one of those picks to dump Ariza’s salary too.

After an embarrassing exit from the 2020 playoffs, Rockets fans were hoping that the front office would be able to salvage the situation in NBA Draft 2020 but instead, the team ended up losing all their picks.

The Rockets didn’t pick at 22 because of the Covington trade, didn’t pick at 16 because of the Ariza dump, and now have no starting center, no 3-and-D wing, and no current asset to show for it.

#4- Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves were positioned to have a great NBA Draft 2020 as the franchise was loaded with first-round picks. Most importantly, they had the no. 1 overall pick, with which they picked Anthony Edwards.

There are doubts over Edwards' commitment to the game of basketball, as highlighted in some of the media sessions attended by him. This is certainly not a good sign for the Wolves, who could have drafted LaMelo Ball instead with their selection in NBA Draft 2020.

They also drafted Leandro Bolmaro and Jaden McDaniels with their other two picks in NBA Draft 2020, two players who won't be able to make an immediate impact. Bolmaro will spend time overseas while McDaniels is a long-term project, and there are doubts about whether he will come good or not.

#5- New York Knicks

The New York Knicks made a move for Obi Toppin with their 8th overall selection in NBA Draft 2020, a center who won't have much upside, according to draft experts.

Toppin is super athletic and has a flashy highlight reel, but there are doubts over whether he will able to add something of substance to the New York Knicks.

The Knicks further messed up by using the 25th pick on Immanuel Quickley in NBA Draft 2020, who was absent from most of the draft boards and was expected to be undrafted. Quickley is a streaky shooter and doesn't have the overall game that is required to survive in the modern NBA.
