San Antonio Spurs pull out of Marcus Morris deal; Morris to sign with Knicks

The San Antonio Spurs and Marcus Morris earlier this week agreed upon a two-year, $20 million commitment. However, Morris subsequently received a one-year, $15 million offer from the Knicks, and ESPN is reporting that the Spurs have withdrawn their initial offer in favor of signing Trey Lyles:

After free-agent forward Marcus Morris reneged on a verbal agreement to sign with the San Antonio Spurs, the franchise finally withdrew its offer and instead reached a two-year deal with forward Trey Lyles, league sources told ESPN.

Morris is now expected to sign with the Knicks. The 29-year-old has spent the past two seasons with the Boston Celtics and is coming off a campaign in which he averaged 13.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
