Boston Celtics sign Kaiser Gates to compete for roster spot
The Boston Celtics roster has seen plenty of change this offseason with Kemba Walker, Enes Kanter among the arrivals. The likes of Al Horford, Kyrie Irving, and Aron Baynes have also departed and they currently have 14 players under guaranteed contracts for the 2019/20 season.
Boston's 15th roster spot is still up for grabs, and Shams Charania of The Athletic is reporting that Kaiser Gates will compete for the final spot.
Gates spent three years at Xavier but went undrafted after forgoing his senior season last summer. The 22-year-old spent the 18/19 campaign with the Chicago Bulls G-League affiliate the Windy City Bulls, but will now have his chance to compete with Tacko Fall, Tremont Waters, Max Strus and Javonte Green for a place in Brad Stevens' rotation.
