While most of the NBA's biggest free-agent names were snapped up in the opening hours of free agency, it is now September and Carmelo Anthony remains without a team. The 35-year-old has not played since being told he was no longer needed by the Houston Rockets back in November, and much has been made of Anthony's inability to adapt to the modern NBA.

Nevertheless, during an appearance on Jalen and Jacoby, Jalen Rose stated his belief that Melo still has a future in the league:

He deserves to be in the NBA; for all that he’s accomplished, for what he can still bring to the table.

During his 10 appearances for the Rockets, Anthony managed 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds in 29.4 minutes per contest. The 10-time All-Star has been linked with the Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers.
