Memphis Grizzlies refusing to enter buyout talks with Andre Iguodala
To create the necessary cap space to complete a sign and trade for D'Angelo Russell, the Golden State Warriors made the tough decision to send Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Nevertheless, Iguodala's stay in Memphis was expected to be brief as the two parties were believed to be working towards a buyout. However, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Iguodala may have to begin the season with the Grizzles.
Last month, the Grizzlies agreed to a buyout agreement with Dwight Howard, although Iguodala appears to have more value following an impressive showing during the 2019 playoffs.
The Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and Los Angeles Clippers have all been linked with a move for the 35-year-old, although teams may be hesitant to take on the final year of his $17.1 million contract.
