Michael Jordan is set to join NBC’s broadcast team as a “Special Contributor.” While the company has kept quiet about the specifics of his role, Cris Collinsworth’s remarks suggest it’ll be more than just a ceremonial appearance.

The move also carries a sense of history as NBC was the stage for many of Jordan’s most unforgettable moments during their run broadcasting the NBA between 1990 to 2002. NBC will begin its coverage of NBA games alongside Amazon Prime Video and ESPN after the league signed an 11-year, $76 billion media rights deal in 2024.
