Adrian Wojnarowski puts LeBron James in distinct class of greatness: “LeBron James is doing same now for Anthony Davis"

LeBron James has been astonishing in his last two games, singlehandedly carrying the LA Lakers to back-to-back wins. His surge sparked NBA analyst Adrian Wojnarowski to break down James' distinct greatness, which separates him from the other great players.

James has scored 40 or more points in their last two games. In a 130-121 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, he dominated with 47 points on his 38th birthday. In a 121-115 win over the Charlotte Hornets, King James dropped 43.

His longevity in the league has put him in a different class. Woj doubled down on this take as James being "the greatest player, the longest." The 18-time All-Star is defying the odds and beating Father Time, as he's still competing at an all-time level.

"For LeBron James, the debate about the greatest ever is gonna continue as he passes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the all-time scoring list," Wojnarowski said. "But I think there's not gonna be a debate about who is the greatest player, the longest and what LeBron James has done.

"The way that Anthony Davis carried this team and got them back into at least play-in contention earlier in the year when LeBron James was out, LeBron James is doing the same now for Anthony Davis.

"What he's doing at 38 years old, with no signs of slowing down, again, the debate about who is the greatest player, the longest, I don't think there's even a debate about that."

James' longevity is incredibly outstanding. For someone with an athletic playstyle, the four-time champion, one of only 10 players to play at least 20 NBA seasons, is defying the odds and is still effective on the floor.

The Lakers (16-21) are looking forward to winning their third straight game as they go against the Miami Heat (20-18) on Wednesday night.

LeBron James seems to be carrying the team to the play-in tournament this season

The Lakers' hopes of winning the Larry O'Brien Trophy seem out of reach, but that doesn't mean that they can't accomplish anything else. LeBron James' play so far has been a cry for help in encouraging the front office to make roster moves. But according to reports, Los Angeles is reluctant to execute a trade that could make them give up on future assets.

This way, the Lakers could show up as participants in this season's play-in tournament with LeBron's leadership. ESPN's Brian Windhorst sees this as a possible outcome for the team.

"And I know that 'in this,' might just mean a play-in spot, but this team getting to a play-in spot would be a great accomplishment this year," Windhorst said. "He always squeezes the most he can out of his team, and maybe the most he can get out of this team is the play-in, but he's doing it."

It could be possible, but the entire team should work together with the four-time MVP.
