The latest Anthony Davis injury update brings some good news for the LA Lakers. The forward, who has missed the last 15 games, may return to the court very soon. Considering that the Lakers were 7-8 in these games, Davis' return will be huge.

According to Shams Charania, the eight-time All-Star may return before the All-Star break. The NBA insider said:

"I'm told that the hope is that Anthony Davis will be able to get back out on the floor with a handful of games left before the All-Star break."

The Lakers have played 43 games so far in the 2022-23 season and could use all the help they can get to improve their record. The latest Anthony Davis injury update is very positive for the team, and his return will be a game-changer.


Latest Anthony Davis injury update gives immense hope to LA Lakers

The last game Anthony Davis played before his injury was on December 16, 2022, against the Denver Nuggets. After only 17 minutes on the floor, the big man left the game with a foot injury and hasn't played since then.

Without Davis, the Lakers managed to beat the Nuggets, but their record was under .500 while he was sidelined. Fortunately, he could return soon, which will positively impact the Lakers.

According to Charania, Davis is back running on the floor, and his next step is doing contact workouts. The NBA insider believes the LA Lakers forward could return by early February.

Charania also pointed out that Davis will most likely participate in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game. If he wants to play in the game, he needs to return before then, which shouldn't be a problem.

As of January 16, Davis ranks third among Western Conference frontcourt players and will most likely be an All-Star Game starter. Only LeBron James and Nikola Jokic have received more votes than him among West forwards.

Lastly, the NBA trade deadline is on February 9, 2023. Anthony Davis' recovery will greatly affect the Lakers and the potential moves they plan to make before the deadline.

In 25 appearances, Davis has averaged 27.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game. He's also converted 59.4% of his total field goals, which is drastically better than his previous career-high percentage of 53.5%.
