Charles Barkley slams Kendrick Perkins for pushing racial bias narrative on ‘First Take’: “Perkins’ argument makes zero sense”

NBA legend Charles Barkley wasn't a fan of what Kendrick Perkins said about the MVP vote being racially biased. He accused Perkins of crossing the line after his comments that got him into a heated argument with his colleague, JJ Redick.

"I can promise you this: I’ve never said anything on television just to get clicks," Barkley said. "We can talk about race as much as you want to as long as you’re going to be fair and honest. But to slander this man (Nikola Jokić) in this situation is just total BS."

It appears as if Perk isn't backing down on his claims and will stand by his word. But many have shared their divided opinions on the matter.

Both Charles Barkley and Kendrick Perkins share a common job, which is to give their opinions on topics on television. Sharing them with the public is what keeps them unemployed. Sometimes, they have to stir up some controversy or drama.

However, in Perkins' case, he claimed that what he said was all factual. He wasn't able to present any hard evidence, but still went with what he said.

On Altitude Sports Radio, Barkley shared his thoughts on what Perk claims are facts about the MVP vote.

"That’s asinine and silly," Barkley said. "Asinine, silly and stupid. Pick one of the words, whatever one you want.

"One of the things that’s silly about ESPN at times, they do this silly debate every year about the MVP, going back to even when I played. They did it a lot with LeBron (James), which makes me laugh, too. Derrick Rose won it. He deserved it. Kevin Durant won it. He deserved it. It’s a regular season award.

"It ain’t who the best player is. It’s who had the best regular season, but every year ESPN gets these fools on radio and TV to talk about who’s the best player. … They have these silly things every year, and it’s really just, that’s the silliness of these morning talk shows.

"I always talk about ESPN disease. A lot of these guys, when they get on TV and stuff, they’re like, ‘Well I’m on ESPN, I got to say something provocative.’"
