"CMC!!! That’s All": LeBron James in awe of Christian McCaffrey, who scored his second TD against Vikings

LeBron James has been impressed with San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey's latest performance.

On Tuesday, LeBron James and the LA Lakers will be in the Mile High City to open the 2023-24 NBA season against the Denver Nuggets. This will mark the first meeting between the two teams after the defending champions swept the Lakers in the Western Conference finals.

Laker Nation can’t wait to see the four-time MVP take on the team that had been trolling them after the conference finals. James should be raring to go after the offseason.

While preparing for the game, “King James” continues to keep track of NFL action. The four-time champ is apparently tuning in to the matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings.

From out of nowhere, LeBron James suddenly tweeted:

“CMC!!! That’s All”

"CMC" is none other than 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey who was questionable to play after suffering an oblique injury last week against the Cleveland Browns. He was limited in practice leading into the game but told reporters that he “felt great.”

McCaffrey opened San Francisco’s scoring with a three-yard rush in the second quarter. LeBron James’ tweet came after the running back received a pass from quarterback Brock Purdy for a 35-yard touchdown. “CMC” now has 16 straight games with at least a touchdown, which is second in NFL history.

Without the injured Deebo Samuel, the San Francisco 49ers have needed everything they can get out of Christian McCaffrey. They trail the Minnesota Vikings 22-14 heading into the fourth quarter.

LeBron James will be hoping he’d be as durable as Christian McCaffrey

LeBron James has not played 60 games in his last three seasons with the LA Lakers. The most he has played in one season was during the 2019-20 campaign, when he he saw action in 67 games.

Last season, James played 55 games and barely escaped with a season-ending foot injury. He reportedly played through pain in the playoffs.

The LA Lakers will need “King James” to be elite title contenders. GM Rob Pelinka has done a masterful job in retooling the lineup. Still, they are not likely going anywhere if the NBA’s all-time points leader is not 100% healthy.

To that end, the basketball superstar could take some inspiration from San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey. Despite the brutal work of a top-end RB, the two-time Pro Bowler has not missed a game in over a year.

McCaffrey has played every game for the 49ers since he was acquired by the team from the Carolina Panthers in October 2020. Considering his workload, McCaffrey’s durability is simply spectacular.

LeBron James spends millions taking care of his body. A little inspiration from a running back might do him good as well.
