Damian Lillard releases 'Silent Hill' freestyle - "Career in condition, it's tip top"

Six-time NBA All-Star Damian Lillard is considered to be one of the best scorers to ever play in the league as he plays with the versatility of a three-way scorer. For all the success he has had in the NBA, the Portland Trail Blazers point guard has also found success in his off-court venture as a rapper.

Lillard uses "Dame D.O.L.L.A" as his rapper name, and has uploaded four full-length albums on Spotify and Apple Music along with a handful of singles and mixtapes. Lillard also has over 253,994 monthly listeners on Spotify. He recently made a freestyle and sampling the beat off Kendrick Lamar's "Silent Hill" track in which he rapped about his current life and career situation.

"Playing one for coach Big Shot," Lillard rapped. "Look in my pocket a big knot. Career in condition, it's tip top. The love and hate always flip flop."

Amid recent trade rumors and the Trail Blazers shutting him down for the season on March 28 as playoff aspirations looked bleak at that point, Lillard still sees his career still in tip-top shape as opposed to how some observers see it.

"I wouldn't even say there's a rival," Lillard said. "I don't do it to compete with other basketball players. ... I'm an artist."

Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers (33-46) are 13th in the Western Conference and have been eliminated from playoff contention. They started the regular season strong as they were 10-4 on Nov. 15 but have fallen out of the standings by a large margin.

It's another disappointing season for the team as it missed the playoffs for the second straight year.

Damian Lillard has had an inconsistent career with the Trail Blazers. He has been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs five times and twice in the second round. His deepest playoff run was in 2019 as he led the Trail Blazers to the Western Conference finals against the Golden State Warriors but ended up getting swept.

Lillard won the Rookie of the Year award in 2013 and has made the All-NBA first team once and All-NBA second team four times. But after playing 11 seasons in Portland, it will be interesting to see the development of his future with the franchise.
