Basketball fans don't often see the other talents of the NBA stars off the court. So it was a pleasant surprise to see Kyrie Irving doing some freestyle rap on a Twitch livestream.
Some viewers clipped the Dallas Mavericks guard's livestream, specifically when he started rapping. The clip was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, and has garnered lots of attention.

Fans were impressed by Irving's skills, and some even compared him to other popular rappers.

"Bro casually dropping bars. He's definitely better than BBL Drizzy," @Nad_Nel7 said.
"Sounding like Meek [Mill]," @akh3530 commented.
"Kyrie had no reason to go hard on this freestyle. this was lowkey fire," @easymoneycam1 said.
With other NBA players having showcased their rap skills before, other fans could not help but compare Irving to them or ask for a collaboration.
"I need Kyrie and [Kevin Durant] to hop on a track together," @ZeroYeets chimed in.
"I've heard enough him and Dame [Lillard] needa have a freestyle battle," @curly_bull_tre added.
"Bro clears Dame in rapping too," @SleepyFrm said.
Kyrie Irving occasionally goes live on Twitch in the "Just Chatting" category. Four videos on his account have occurred within the last three days. His username on Twitch is 'Kai11irving.'
Another Twitch user, 'Kyrieirving,' has one video from 12 years ago. That video is of some gameplay from NBA 2k13 titled "NO vs LAL." As the title suggests, the video mostly shows a game between the LA Lakers and the New Orleans squad when they were still known as the Hornets.
That is the only video on that channel, and it appears this user isn't affiliated with Irving.
Kyrie Irving once released a track as part of the 'Uncle Drew' soundtrack
Kyrie Irving has already showcased his other talents to his fans before when he starred in 'Uncle Drew' in 2018. This started when Irving took on the persona of Uncle Drew for a series of Pepsi ads.
Uncle Drew gained a large following and it eventually became a full-length film. Some of the main stars in the film were Lisa Leslie, Shaquille O'Neal, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller and Nate Robinson.
As part of the film's soundtrack, Irving released a track called 'Ridiculous.'
Aside from being one of the top basketball stars, Kyrie Irving has already shown his fans that he's got talents in music and acting.
