Anthony Edwards' fondness for Nicki Minaj is well-documented. But the man knows he would have to deal with her husband Kenneth Petty if he ever crossed the line regarding his true feelings for the 'Anaconda' star. The Minnesota Timberwolves superstar confessed that he had a crush on the singer and that his pregame routine included listening to her tracks to get into his zone.

Speaking to Funny Marco on "Open Thoughts," Edwards spoke at length about Minaj, while also revealing his favorite song. He also added that he was mindful of her being married.

"When I was younger, I had a little crush on Nicki. I ain't gonna lie I like the Anaconda song and the video. She married now, so I'm cool I'm straight, I don't want no smoke."

But that's not all on the music front for Edwards. In an earlier interview with GQ, he said he listens to Brother bdifferent, Lil Baby, and Future.

Anthony Edwards is off to a scintillating start this season

Anthony Edwards' hot start to the season has seen the Minnesota Timberwolves take the top position in the Western Conference with ten wins in 13 games. He's averaging 25.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 13 games so far. His last five games have seen him notch up 22.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists.

Edwards had some lavish praise coming his way from eight-time All-Star Paul George. The LA Clippers star explained how the T-Wolves star was living up to the expectations placed on him ahead of the season. Speaking on the Podcast P, George said (at 37:05 mark):

“He’s [Edwards] been playing great. First one of his career and definitely many more for him in his future. I like what I’ve seen from Ant-Man. He’s taking the jump. He’s taking it to the next level. He is a superstar. I know people don’t talk much about it from a superstar level but it’s safe to say and comfortable to put him in that superstar category now. He’s doing it. He’s walking the walk, he’s talking the talk."

Anthony Edwards is well on his way to second All-Star selection at this rate. He was selected to the team last season as a replacement. Given his rollicking form, the guard is making a solid case for becoming a starter for next year’s edition. And as long as he's in his element, the Timberwolves will fancy their chances.
