The topic of the NBA GOAT is one that has been a hot source for debates for years now. While some believe that LeBron James' longevity over the past 21 years gives him a claim to the title of NBA GOAT, others believe that the title still belongs to Michael Jordan, given his unprecedented dominance in the 90s that saw him go 6-0 in the NBA Finals.

During a sitdown with fellow WWE star Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton weighed in on the NBA GOAT debate following LeBron James and Team USA's gold medal win against France at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

During a sit-down on the What Do You Wanna Talk About show, Orton and Rhodes discussed the topic of greatest athlete of all time across sports. When Rhodes name-dropped LeBron James and Michael Jordan, Orton held up his hand and interjected by taking a shot at LeBron James:

It's unclear whether Orton and James have a personal feud, or if Orton just feels very passionate about LeBron not being given the title of NBA GOAT. From the looks of things, the two have never had any run-ins with each other in the past, making the comments all the more confusing.

How the 2024 Paris Olympics have fueled the NBA GOAT debate

This summer, LeBron James helped fuel Team USA to a gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Despite being the oldest player on the team before the Olympics, James was voted the best player on the team by his peers in a poll conducted by The Athletic.

He then proceeded to fuel Team USA to two big international friendly wins, coming up big late-game against South Sudan and Australia leading up to the Olympics. Once the group phase of the Olympics began, James continued to impress, posting one of the best assist averages of the entire tournament despite his age.

With a series of impressive performances, James helped fuel Team USA to an undefeated record in the group phase before leading the team in the knockouts en route Olympic gold, logging a double-double in Team USA's gold medal game against France.

The way NBA vet Kendrick Perkins sees things, James' third Olympic gold medal puts him ahead of Michael Jordan in the NBA GOAT debate:

"The greatest of all time. Greeny, I know you might not like this this morning, but he got one up on MJ right now. ... he has three gold medals. MJ has two. ... he's the most important player in basketball."

From the sounds of things, Randy Orton wholeheartedly disagrees with the statement, bur it's unclear whether he has Michael Jordan as the greatest of all time or another NBA legend.
