LeBron James has had a storied career and has solidified his place among the greatest players of all-time. The future NBA Hall of Famer has won four championships in his career, coming in 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2020. His game-worn jersey from Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals recently hit the open market.

Sotheby's, a world-renowned auction house, recently shared that they will be auctioning the jersey, which they estimate has a value of $3-5 million, stating:

"One of the most significant items from LeBron James’ career comes to auction this January: his game-worn 2013 NBA Finals Game 7 Miami Heat jersey. Carrying an estimate of $3-5M, it marks the most valuable James jersey at auction and is among the most valuable jerseys of all time."

It should come as no surprise that LeBron's game-worn jersey from Game 7 is his most expensive jersey to hit the open market. It will be one of twenty pieces auctioned off on January 27, 2023. Additionally, the jersey will be on display for Sotheby's Masters Week, which starts on January 21st.

James finished Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals with a game-high 37 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. He also had two steals while shooting 12-23 from the field, 5-10 from three-point range, and 8-8 from the free-throw line. The Heat would ride his performance to a 95-88 victory, giving them their second consecutive title.

When fans burnt LeBron James' jersey as he left the Cleveland Cavaliers

LeBron James was a hometown hero in the state of Ohio for the first seven years of his illustrious career. The four-time NBA MVP, who grew up in Akron, Ohio, was selected first overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The city's love for its local star turned to hate following his departure in the summer of 2010. The future NBA Hall of Famer infamously announced that he would take his talents to South Beach on a television program titled "The Decision."

Upon James announcing that he would be joining the Miami Heat, fans of the Cavaliers took to the streets to show their disapproval of his departure. Throughout Cleveland, fans had bonfires with LeBron's jersey and other merchandise bearing his name and image.
