Jayson Tatum landed on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s foot in the second half of the Boston Celtics versus Milwaukee Bucks game on Sunday. The incident happened after Antetokounmpo had closed out on Tatum who attempted a corner 3. Referee Natalie Sago saw the entire sequence but didn't call a foul on the two-time MVP.
After the game, Tatum ripped the referees on social media:
“Smfh (facepalm emoji) some calls you just not supposed to miss”

The NBA has been protecting shooters by calling a flagrant foul on players closing out on landing spots. In the play Jayson Tatum complained about, Antetokounmpo invaded that area but got away with an infraction.
Tatum shook off the injury to return to the game and led the Boston Celtics to a 113-107 win. He scored 23 of his team-high 31 points in the second half and added 12 rebounds and six assists. “Taco Jay” shot 7-for-21, including 4-for-12 from deep.
Jayson Tatum's Celtics survived Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks’ early onslaught
Giannis Antetokounmpo ripped his team on Friday following a 116-94 loss to the New York Knicks.
The “Greek Freak” told reporters that he was unhappy with the Bucks’ lack of competitive fire. They trailed the Knicks by 30 at half-time and predicted that they would be in the same situation if they didn't show up against the Celtics.
The Bucks responded to the two-time MVP’s challenge and raced to a 16-2 first-quarter lead. Jayson Tatum struggled, hitting 1-of-5 shots and committing two turnovers in the opening period. Boston’s poise and championship mettle stood out after Milwaukee’s opening salvo.
After trailing 40-30 in the first quarter, the Celtics outscored the Bucks 83-67 in the next three. The turning point happened in the third frame when the Celtics dominated the hosts 29-15. Tatum shook off a rolled ankle, while Jaylen Brown survived an elbow from Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Boston survived Milwaukee’s hot start and potential injuries to their stars to walk away with the win.
