“Hopefully, I’ll get that big standing ovation that I think I deserve” – 5x NBA All-Star hopes to give a terrific performance in front of his former team, says it’s a second home for him

John Wall has been one of the top NBA point guards throughout his career. After signing with the LA Clippers this offseason, Wall is hoping to remind fans of just how special he can be on the court.

A five-time All-Star, Wall blossomed during his tenure with the Washington Wizards, who drafted him with the No. 1 pick in 2010. He spent nine years with the Wizards, becoming one of the league's top floor generals. Eventually, he was traded to the Houston Rockets, where he missed numerous years with injuries and off-the-court issues.

Back and in good shape, the 32-year-old point guard is hoping his new team will help him enjoy the game that he loves. But Wall hasn't forgotten where he's come from. In fact, he's looking forward to returning home more than ever. In a recent article by Peter Dewey, Wall talked about how excited he is to play back in front of the Wizards' fanbase:

“I never had the opportunity to be back to play in front of fans. So hopefully I’ll get that big standing ovation that I think I deserve. My ultimate goal was trying to bring a championship there. Like, everything I gave to that city, from playing through my injuries, giving back to the community, it felt like a second home to me.”

The Clippers visit the Wizards on Dec. 10.

Throughout his career with the Washington Wizards, John Wall put the franchise on his back to try to win a championship. Although that dream never came true, Wall still cemented himself as one of the top players in the organization's history.

During his nine seasons with the Wizards, Wall averaged 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 9.2 assists per game while shooting 43.3%.

Wall will now have his goals set on this season. As part of the LA Clippers, he has one of the best opportunities he's had yet to chase a championship.

The Clippers have been a popular preseason sleeper pick to make a run in the Western Conference. The team already has superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, who are eager to get back on the court.

With the addition of Wall, as well as an impressive roster, it could be a special year for the talented point guard.
