In Pictures: Luka Doncic recreates famous Michael Jordan pre-game pic in Luka 3 painted 68 Camaro

Luka Doncic has been with Michael Jordan’s brand since 2019 and is under contract until 2029. The partnership has blossomed into one of the best collaborations in the sporting world. “Luka Legend” is a perennial MVP contender with shoes that have been highly sought after even by non-basketball fans.

Doncic’s first signature shoe was released in the first round of the 2022 playoffs. The Slovenian was injured to start the postseason but that didn’t stop the Jordan brand from launching the highly anticipated shoe line. Towards the end of the 2022-23 campaign, the "Jumpman" rolled out the Luka 2, the shoes Doncic had been wearing for nearly this entire season.

This month, the Jordan Brand did something special for Luka Doncic. To honor the release of the Luka 3 “Midnight Racer,” Michael Jordan’s line gave Doncic’s 1968 Camaro a smoldering brand-new look. The car had taken on the colorway of the newly-released shoe.

“Luka Legend” reciprocated the gesture by replicating the Chicago Bulls legend’s famous photo in 1992 when he went out of his black Ferrari. “His Airness” bought the vehicle after winning his first championship in 1991 and it came in black to match his suits. It had the luxury plate “M AIR J” to identify the owner of the ultra-sleek car.

Luka Doncic’s Camaro, now dressed in shades of pink and violet, has “77” on the plate. He reportedly drives the car after games to calm himself and clear his mind. He honored Michael Jordan by mimicking the famous picture of the six-time champ going out of his vehicle.

Luka Doncic doesn’t just love basketball the way Michael Jordan does. The Slovenian also has a passion for vehicles in the same vein as the five-time MVP. He has said on a few occasions that he uses his time to drive as “personal time.” For him, it doesn’t even matter if it’s at nighttime as long as he gets to go out on the road in one of his eye-popping vehicles.

Meanwhile, Michael Jordan has had Ferraris, the most famous of which was arguably the 512 TR that Luka Doncic honored. “His Airness” also had a Porsche 930 “Flat Nose,” a Chevrolet Corvette C4, an Aston Martin DB7 Volante and many other classic and luxurious vehicles.
