Last weekend, the Toronto Raptors raised Vince Carter's jersey up into the rafters, making him the first player in franchise history to have their jersey retired.
While the night was all about Carter, rapper and Raptors' global ambassador Drake took a shot at DeMar DeRozan, who was playing his first game at Scotiabank Arena with the Sacramento Kings.
During the broadcast, Drake said that if the Raptors ever decided to retire DeMar DeRozan's jersey, he would take it down himself. This week, on Friday's episode of "Run It Back" for FanDuel TV, Vince Carter weighed in on the situation after some fans complained that Drake made the night about himself.
The point was one that NBA vet Lou Williams argued while speaking with Carter. As he stated, although the attention in Scotiabank Arena was on him, Drake's comments overshadowed the momentous occasion online.

Vince Carter had this to say on the matter:
"I didn't realize all this was going on during the time until afterwards and hearing about it, so I mean I take a step back because I understand Drake's side of it, like, but I understand the other side of it. ... it's an emotional situation.
"I know I'm toeing a line here but at the same time, it's like for Drake, like, 'Yeah, we were boys and you know we did this,' but you got to understand his side of it. Drake ... He would side towards hometown ... So I understand his side of it, but, yeah, it's just a tough situation."
Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé takes jab at Drake following comments made during Vince Carter's jersey retirement
After the Sacramento Kings traveled to Toronto to play the Raptors for Vince Carter's jersey retirement on Nov. 2, the Raptors traveled to California to play the Kings on Wednesday.
During the game, Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé was seen courtside, wearing a shirt that was a direct jab at Drake. The shirt read "They not like us," a reference to Kendrick Lamar's diss track from earlier this year.
The Kings wound up winning the game 122-107 with DeMar DeRozan leading the way with 27 points, bringing the Kings' record to 5-3 for the year.
Prior to Drake's comments on the broadcast, DeMar DeRozan had said, leading up to this season, that despite being onstage at Kendrick Lamar's pop-up show, he had no problem with Drake's music being played in the Kings arena.
From the sounds of things, even though DeRozan has no beef with Drake, the rapper took DeRozan's appearance at Lamar's show in LA personally.
