Jalen Rose comments on LeBron James venting to referee calls: “You ain’t getting the benefit out of whistle”

LeBron James has vented out via his Twitter account about how the LA Lakers' game against the Philadelphia 76ers was officiated. Former NBA player Jalen Rose gave out his take on James' current situation, which has played a huge part in how their games have been officiated.

Rose shared his take on why the game officials didn't call a foul against Joel Embiid during the closing moments of their game last Monday.

"When you're 13th in the west, and you're four games under .500, you ain't getting the benefit of the whistle, and that's just how the game goes. Officials don't like when I say this, but it's true. There's first quarter calls, there's fourth quarter calls. There's rookie calls, there's vet calls," Rose said.

"In Joel Embiid's case, a guy that was second in the MVP race on a contending team for the Sixers. I hate to say it, ladies and gentlemen. Those teams get the benefit of the doubt. And usually that happens via the whistle."

In an attempt to win the game, Russell Westbrook tried to draw a foul on Embiid, but the referees ignored it, resulting in an ugly loss. After the buzzer sounded, James was seen walking off the court.

The four-time champion shared a post on Twitter about the controversial non-call on Westbrook against Embiid a few days later.

LeBron James even shared his opinion on the matter via Twitter.

"And all year they keep telling me to my face on the court, 'I didn’t see it' or 'It wasn’t a foul'. It’s not making sense to me seriously! Frustrating as hell man! Anyways keep going Squad!" James tweeted.

Rose makes a valid point that the Lakers aren't really an important team this season. This could be why they aren't getting most of their usual calls on the court.

Los Angeles traded for Patrick Beverley to boost their weak perimeter defense. So far, he hasn't played like a lockdown defender for the team. His numbers are down as well, averaging only six points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Pat Bev also started the season shooting the ball from deep slowly, but luckily, he's improved in that area on the floor.

It's not clear whether there's a market for Beverley, but getting rid of him and adding a decent three-and-D could start turning things around.
