One month after aiding Joe Mazzulla's Boston Celtics' 2024 NBA title run, Manchester City F.C. manager Pep Guardiola showcased his hoops skills in New York City. Guardiola's knock-down shooting had NBA fans raving about his versatile skill set and prospects of coaching basketball.

Guardiola traveled to New York City for a Thursday block party event revealing Manchester City’s new third kit for the 2024-25 campaign. The event, which took place on 49th Street and 5th Avenue, featured Guardiola and Manchester City players participating in basketball drills on an outdoor court.

Manchester City posted a clip on X/Twitter of Guardiola warming up before shooting baseline jumpers. He knocked down both shots in the video, garnering applause from bystanders.

Guardiola was heavily featured during this year's NBA Finals, with Mazzulla crediting him for helping him prepare for Boston's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks.

Thus, many fans remarked that Guardiola's time spent with Mazzulla paid off.

Meanwhile, others suggested that the decorated manager may have been heavily responsible for the Celtics' title.

Joe Mazzulla on Pep Guardiola's impact on Celtics' 2024 NBA championship

After Boston captured this year's NBA title, defeating Dallas 4-1, Joe Mazzulla touched on Pep Guardiola's impact on the series.

According to Mazzulla, Guardiola gave him tips on how to overcome the Mavericks' pesky defense.

"Dallas has one of the smartest defenses. We had to be creative to combat them. Pep Guardiola helped me with transitions and moving guys around," Mazzulla said.

Mazzulla was previously seen strategizing with Guardiola ahead of the series, with the Celtics coach later highlighting their close relationship.

"He's a great person. He's a great coach. It's just the humility, the work ethic, the intensity he brings, and we've developed a great relationship," Mazzulla said. "I'm very grateful for him, and I'd like to think we make each other better."

Guardiola has experienced immense success, winning six Premier League titles, four UEFA Super Cups and three UEFA Champions League titles. However, this year's NBA championship marked Mazzulla's first through two seasons as Boston's head coach.
