Michael Jordan will forever be in the GOAT discussion for his impact and legacy, which remains relevant to this day. Former NBA big man John Salley compared the Chicago Bulls legend to Jesus Christ to defend his place in the GOAT debate.

The never-ending debate on who's the greatest basketball player of all time is headlined by two people: Jordan and LeBron James. Salley gives a religious take on why the six-time NBA champion should be on top of the other great players, taking the liberty to bring Jesus Christ into the debate.

"Jordan was designed the same way Jesus was designed," Salley said. "People (still) sit around and talk about Jesus Christ from 2,019 years ago.

"The reason Michael Jordan isn't going anywhere is because of Babe Ruth. ... They still will show and have thing about Babe Ruth. That's what Michael Jordan is going to be in 50 years. He's gonna be Babe Ruth of basketball. ... There's only one Babe Ruth, and there's only one Michael Jordan, and there's one Jesus Christ and then there's Michael Jackson."

Whether Salley is on point with his take or not, one can't deny the legacy that Jordan left. He transformed basketball and inspired many greats to be like him. The 14-time All-Star has long been retired, yet he still amazes fans with how he played in the NBA.

Dan Patrick shared a story about one of his memorable encounters with Michael Jordan

Everyone knows the extremely competitive nature of Jordan. Not only did he show it to his on-court opposition, but he also displayed it to people who aren't professional ball players. One of the people who witnessed it was Dan Patrick, who recalled his encounter with MJ in 1998.

The five-time MVP had just won his sixth championship with the Bulls against the Utah Jazz. MJ was also retiring for a second time in his career. Patrick approached him and said that he felt bad the 6-foot-6 guard was on his way out of the NBA.

The media personality also told Jordan that he wished to have a piece of him. The latter's response was surprising, making it an unforgettable experience.

"I said, 'Hey, it's a shame you are retiring, man. So, I wanted a piece of you.' And he turns. So, he's got the basketball, the game ball, with him," Patrick said. "He said, 'How would you guard me motherf****r?' And I've got my suit and tie on. I went and put my forearm in the middle of his back, and he goes, 'Is that all you got?' 'Yeah,' and he just laughed. He said, 'You're lucky I'm retiring.'"
