An anonymous general manager reckons Kyrie Irving's career might be over. However, Julius Erving believes Irving could be back in the NBA in no time. Irving is currently suspended by the Brooklyn Nets and will need to complete a few steps before he gets reinstated.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Erving was asked about Irving's situation with the Nets. The 30-year-old guard was suspended for promoting an anti-Semitic film on social media. He made it worse by doubling-down on his actions before finally apologizing.

"Dr. J" thinks there are too many greedy owners in the NBA to let Irving's career go down the drain. The seven-time All-Star is considered one of the most talented and skilled players in the league.

"The owners are greedy, so he's going to end up in the league playing for somebody, no matter how toxic he is," Erving said. "When he's too old to play, he'll be done. As long as he's young enough to score those buckets, and do what he does, be Kyrie, he's going to have a job."

Irving has felt the fallout from his promotion of the anti-Semitic film "Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America." Apart from being suspended by the Brooklyn Nets, Nike has suspended Irving's partnership and canceled the release of the Kyrie 8.

Before he can return to the Nets, Irving has to complete several steps laid out by the team. He has already apologized for his actions and donated $500,000 to an anti-hate organization. He will need to complete sensitivity and complete antisemitism training. He will also have to meet with Jewish leaders, as well as Nets owner Joe Tsai.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Kyrie Irving met with NBA commissioner Adam Silver on Tuesday morning. Charania reported that the two had a very productive meeting regarding Irving's issues.

Silver, who is Jewish, was initially upset at Irving for promoting an anti-Semitic film. He became irate and released a statement criticizing the Brooklyn Nets guard for failing to apologize. After the Nets suspended Kyrie Irving, the player released an apology on Instagram.

"To All Jewish families and Communities that are hurt and affected from my post, I am deeply sorry to have caused you pain, and I apologize. I initially reacted out of emotion to being unjustly labeled Anti-Semitic, instead of focusing on the healing process of my Jewish Brothers and Sisters that were hurt from the hateful remarks made in the Documentary.
I had no intentions to disrespect any Jewish cultural history regarding the Holocaust or perpetuate any hate. I am learning from this unfortunate event and hope we can find understanding between us all. I am no different than any other human being. I am a seeker of truth and knowledge, and I know who I Am."
