Klay Thompson fires back at doubters: "I PROMISE you it’s coming, and when it does the flood gates will open"

The Golden State Warriors are struggling, and Klay Thompson promises that help is on the way. After a 122-115 road loss on Sunday to the Sacramento Kings, the Warriors find themselves at 5-8.

It's been a slow start for the defending NBA champions. The Warriors had a 3-7 record at one time. But then superstar guard Steph Curry took his game to another plateau. Over his last three games, Curry is averaging 38.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.7 assists while shooting 64.1%, including 50.0% from 3-point range.

Although Curry has been magnificent, his fellow Splash Brother has not. Thompson has struggled to find his groove. Thompson has played in 11 games, averaging 14.7 ppg on 35.1% shooting. Knowing that Curry needs support, Thompson took to Instagram to stress that he knows help is on the way:

“My belief is stronger than your doubt. I PROMISE you it’s coming. And when it does the flood gates will open"

After winning the NBA championship in June, the Golden State Warriors were looking like a team that could contend for years to come. Golden State has a roster that features an intriguing mix of veterans and youth.

That mix has struggled to gel together this season. Golden State was in the middle of a five-game losing streak before Curry caught fire. To snap their losing streak, it required a 47-point performance from Curry in a 116-113 win over Sacramento on Nov. 7.

There's no denying that Curry can still be one of the most dominant forces on a basketball court. But the Warriors' depth has struggled to support their superstar. Golden State still has a roster that can quickly find its groove and get back on track.

The team will have another chance to add to the win column, including Monday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs. Golden State needs to find a rotation that can work moving forward. When it comes to Klay Thompson, the team is trying to be cautious with their star wing.

Thompson is still trying to best prevent any future injuries. Golden State has been keeping him out of the lineup in back-to-back games. In his last three games, Thompson has averaged 14.0 ppg but shot just 31.9%.

It's been a slow start for Klay Thompson, especially for his efficiency. History has shown us that it's unwise to count out the Golden State Warriors. Although it's been a rough beginning, Golden State has the tools to come together quickly. If that happens, it could turn into bad news for the rest of the NBA.
