LA Lakers injury update- Darvin Ham keeps fans guessing about Anthony Davis and LeBron James status against at the Clippers

Los Angeles Lakers v Washington Wizards
LeBron James and Anthony Davis celebrate a play

The latest update on the LA Lakers superstar duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis is largely questionable. When asked about the availability of the two for back-to-back against the LA Clippers, head coach Darvin Ham responded in a rather ambiguous manner.

The Lakers came out of their recent game against the Utah Jazz with a win. However, the game was certainly a taxing one for the team, as Anthony Davis played 42 minutes while LeBron James played 38.

Needless to say, the team will be fatigued heading into a back-to-back fixture against the Clippers. However, there appears to be some doubt regarding the availability of the Lakers' stars.

ESPN's Dave McMenamin asked Darvin Ham about D'Angelo Russell, James, and Davis' status for Wednesday. As per the ESPN reporter, Ham didn't specify whether the three would play and simply said that the Lakers had:

"Our short term business to take care of and our long term business to take care of."

Davis and LeBron will be evaluated once they arrive in LA on Wednesday. With greater emphasis placed on having them fit for the playoffs, the Lakers could opt to rest their superstars.

However, given the importance of each game, the Purple and Gold will hope that their duo will be available. Currently tied for sixth place with the Clippers, the Lakeshow will need a win on Wednesday if they hope to climb their way out of the play-in.

LeBron James delivers a clutch performance against Utah

LA Lakers superstar LeBron James certainly came through for his team on Wednesday night. Dropping a 37-point performance, "King James" helped the Lakers secure a crucial win on the road.

James started the game off hot as he racked up a quick 16 points in 13 minutes. LBJ has been on a minutes restriction as he recovers from injury. Due to this, James has been coasting offensively rather than dominating. However, Wednesday's game practically forced LeBron to take over.

After a furious comeback mounted by Jazz forward Kelly Olynyk and former Lakers guard Talen Horton-Tucker, the Lakers had to dig deep to hold off Utah. This is where James shined brightest.

After failing to win the game in regulation, James made some key baskets for his team in OT. James also delivered the final blow to put the game to rest and secure the win.

James was supported by a crucial 28-point performance by Austin Reaves and a solid double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds by Anthony Davis. With LeBron turning it up in this game, the Lakers superstar could be ramping up his output for the playoffs.
