Like many NBA personalities, LeBron James has been branching out and is doing more than just play professional basketball. LeBron has had many collaborations and projects in the past. It looks like his next project outside of playing basketball will be to produce a documentary in collaboration with Netflix and several other parties.

There is still no title for LeBron James' reported latest project, but it appears that it will follow the same format as the Quarterback series, which is available on Netflix.

Quarterback was produced by Omaha Productions, a production company founded by two-time Super Bowl winner Peyton Manning.

The same production company will work with LeBron in his new project. Aside from Manning's Omaha Productions, Higher Ground Productions will also be part of the documentary. The production house was founded by former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Currently, there aren't a lot of details regarding LeBron James' upcoming project. However, it will most likely follow the same format and premise as the Quarterback docu-series.

Quarterback was developed for Netflix in partnership with the NFL. Aside from Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions, NFL Films and 2PM Productions, which was founded by Patrick Mahomes, were also involved in the project.

The docu-series was released on July 12, 2023, and all eight episodes were made available immediately. The series followed three NFL quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings and Marcus Mariota, who was a part of the Atlanta Falcons during the shooting of the series.

The series followed these three quarterbacks during the 2022 season. All three were mic'd up and the audio that was gathered and recorded were used in the documentary.

Manning later confirmed that Quarterback had been renewed for a second season.

Similar to Quarterback, LeBron's upcoming project will most likely follow a few active NBA superstars throughout the entire season and through the playoffs. The documentary will show their lives both on and off the court, so fans will be able to get a unique glimpse at what the biggest NBA stars do when they aren't playing.

There are still plenty of details that are unclear, but people might already be wondering which NBA superstars are going to be mic'd up and followed around for the documentary.
