How did Luka Doncic perform against the Memphis Grizzlies?

Luka Doncic was out for five games with a wrist injury before returning on Dec. 1 against the Blazers. He finished with 36 points, seven rebounds, 13 assists and three steals as the Mavericks earned a 137-131 win.

"Luka Magic" was feeling good entering Tuesday's game, dropping 12 points in the first quarter against the Grizzlies. He was 3-for-4 from the field and made two of his shots from beyond the arc. However, Memphis was up 26-25 after the first 12 minutes.

In the second quarter, the Mavericks had a big run to start and even built a 10-point lead. The Grizzlies managed to come back, but they had no answer for Doncic, who had 12 points again in the quarter. His teammates also got involved with Dereck Lively II adding 10 points.

Luka Doncic was quiet in the third quarter with just five points as the Memphis Grizzlies seized control of the game. The Dallas Mavericks' defense was almost non-existent and their energy was not great.

However, they came alive late in the fourth quarter to overcome a 15-point deficit. P.J. Washington uplifted the Mavs with his defense on Ja Morant, while Doncic hit a crucial three with three minutes remaining to cut the lead to just five points.

A crucial call against Jaren Jackson Jr. put Dereck Lively II at the free throw line. He knocked down the two bonus shots as the momentum shifted to Dallas. Doncic made two more free throws followed by back-to-back 3-point shots by Spencer Dinwiddie.

With the point differential still a factor, the Mavs needed to win by five points or more. Washington hit a three to give his team a six-point advantage with 27 seconds remaining. Kyrie Irving hit two more clutch shots as Dallas qualified for the knockout rounds.
