Magic Johnson is displeased with LA Lakers’ awful season start: “I am agonizing over the Lakers play, the lack of shooting, and the 0-4 record”

The LA Lakers continue to suffer with their shooting woes that have hindered them from winning a single game this season. Former Lakers star Magic Johnson vented his disappointment on Twitter after the team lost its fourth straight game.

Expectations were high for the Lakers during the offseason as they hired a new head coach and tried to acquire the best pieces they could. However, it looks like the Lakers (0-4) are playing worse than last season, when they went 33-49. Meanwhile, their shooting, which has been a problem since last season, hasn't improved.

Their winless start has drawn attention from many, including former NBA players. Magic Johnson, a five-time champion, expressed his regret over the Lakers' rough start on Twitter.

"I’m agonizing over the Lakers play, the lack of shooting, and the 0-4 record," Johnson tweeted. "If my Lakers don’t start shooting better, this could be a longgg season for us Laker fans."

Many are livid with the way the LA Lakers have started. The team's 0-4 start is the worst in LeBron James' career since his rookie year (in 2003 with the Cleveland Cavaliers). It's evident that the team is in dire need of a knockdown shooter, which the front office didn't prioritize over the summer. It's all up to the general manager, Rob Pelinka, to start making roster moves.

On Wednesday night, even James struggled to put the ball in the basket early. The 18-time All-Star went 2-for-8 from 3-point shooting and 8-for-21 in the field. Still, he managed to get 19 points, seven rebounds and nine assists. James also turned the ball over eight times during the game, which was a big reason for their 110-99 loss to the Denver Nuggets.

The LA Lakers will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night.

The Lakers are currently on a two-game road trip that ends in Minnesota. The Minnesota Timberwolves (3-2), who have their own issues, beat the San Antonio Spurs, who were without Josh Primo and Devin Vassell, 134-122 on Wednesday night. The Wolves are slowly finding their stride as Anthony Edwards led the team with 34 points.

For the LA Lakers, a game against the Wolves may be difficult. Both Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert are elite rebounders. Additionally, Gobert is a three-time Defensive Player of the Year who shouldn't be underestimated when he's at the rim. The Lakers enjoy playing a small-ball lineup that could expose more of the team's problems.

Defensively, the Lakers won't be able to match up well. They're smaller, and the Wolves could force switches down the post against their perimeter players. Los Angeles also isn't a great offensive threat, as they've been shooting over 22% from 3-point range, the worst in the NBA.

The Lakers' front office should start making roster moves to address their needs, and it could help the team start to win.
