LeBron James' story could not have been written any better, as the LA Lakers superstar is reaching milestones no one has neared before in the NBA. It is beautiful to see fans appreciating one of the best players in league history while he is still around.

Last night, James showed the world that he still got it, registering his second 50-point game in three outings. "The King" recorded 50 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in the Lakers' 122-109 victory over the Washington Wizards.

Although James has been having a spectacular campaign, his second 50-piece of the season has catapulted him to the top of the scoring leaderboard. If it was not nearly mandatory for the MVP to have led his team to a top-four finish, James winning the Maurice Podoloff trophy as well as the scoring title at 37 would have been the most astonishing story in league history.

Meanwhile, fans are reveling in LeBron James' glory. Many have taken to Reddit to show their excitement.

As expected, some have used the chance to draw comparisons to Michael Jordan.

Another user took the opportunity to take a swipe at Russell Westbrook, whose performances have not pleased Laker Nation this season.

Although the Lakers are still ranked 9th in the Western Conference standings, their chances of maintaining their top-ten finish look good. However, it is sad to see that the Lakers need a Herculean performance like this from James before they can get a win.

Nonetheless, the Lakers will take any win they can get however they can. If they fail to make it to the playoffs, they could be seen as one of the worst teams in league history, especially because of the caliber of talent on the roster.

James has attempted to hand over the keys to Anthony Davis but has had to take charge once again. The four-time NBA champ has had to will his team to victory every other night and has not gotten much help from the other superstars on the team.

Westbrook, who was specifically brought in to help ease the load off James, has not done exactly that so far. He started the season with turnover issues but has also failed to convert on layups, which has angered Lakers fans more.

While we know James is in incredible shape, no one expected him to have performances like these in his 19th year. The last and only time James won the scoring title was in 2008 when he finished the season averaging 30.0 points.

There is still a lot of work for the Lakers to do to reach the playoffs. To achieve that, they will need James to be healthy and at his best at all times.
